  • Background:
    UCSF, in partnership with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-Tanzania (CDC-Tanzania), is seeking a Data Critic to support strategic information initiatives focused on data quality improvement, complaint surveillance, and health information systems for Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, as well as PEPFAR and implementing partners (IPs).

 

  • Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development of check protocols, tools, field guides, and training materials.
    Support planning, implementation, and delivery of training sessions on exploration and surveillance protocols.
  • Participate in exploration and surveillance conditioning, including leading data collection teams.
  • Clean and analyze data generated by exploration and surveillance conditioning, including HIV recent infection surveillance data.
  • Triangulate HIV program data across multiple sources.
  • Support the development of reports and dashboards.
  • Assist the health informatics team with data verification for programmatic dashboards.
  • Develop ODK data collection tools.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.

 

  • Experience, Skills, and Minimum Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Statistics or Epidemiology.
  • Minimum of two years of progressive professional experience in data analysis.
  • Experience leading data collection in exploration or surveillance conditioning.
  • Strong fine chops in quantitative data collection, measurement, organization, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical packages like STATA, SPSS, SAS, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with PEPFAR and MOH reporting tools and systems.
  • Experience with programming ODK data collection tools.
  • Proficiency in English and Kiswahili.
  • Experience working with mobile and vulnerable populations is an advantage.

  • Strong organizational and operation chops.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication chops.
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel within the country to support project conditioning.
