  • Outstanding Solutions Ltd is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Restaurant Manager in Arusha, Tanzania. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant, ensuring exceptional service quality, maximizing profit, and maintaining strict financial controls. The successful candidate will work closely with other departments to ensure the seamless delivery of guest services.

 

  • Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily restaurant operations according to established Standard Operating Procedures, including staff supervision and appearance standards.
  • Ensure guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service, handling customer complaints and feedback effectively.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with other hotel departments such as front office, kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance.
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and cleanliness of dining areas, kitchen, and adjacent public spaces.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Evaluate staff performance, provide feedback, and train employees on effective sales techniques.
  • Collaborate with food and beverage staff to ensure high-quality food presentation and service.
  • Control inventory, order supplies, and conduct regular stock takes to manage operational costs.
  • Report equipment and facility deficiencies and coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure proper and efficient use of the restaurant’s Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
  • Ensure accurate billing and correct end-of-day procedures.
  • Develop and update menus to meet guest preferences and cost-of-goods targets.
  • Promote the restaurant to attract new guests and retain regular customers.
  • Coordinate with guests and other departments to plan and host special events.

 

  • Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Fluent in English and Swahili.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent service.
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations, including event, restaurant, and bar service, and food safety and sanitation.
  • Ability to create an appealing atmosphere for guests.
  • Knowledge of restaurant marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Flexible and able to work in different environments and settings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

  • Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Tanzanian National.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Certification from a recognized culinary or hospitality management program is an asset.
  • 2-5 years of experience in restaurant management.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination is a plus.
