Senior Manager – Corporate Banking at NMB

  • Job Purpose: To provide leadership and support to Relationship Directors within the Telecoms and Mining sectors, driving growth across Corporate Banking businesses. Develop, promote, and deliver NMB’s products and services to ensure current and prospective commercial clients find solutions for their financial needs.

 

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management:
  • Manage Relationship Directors to ensure work standards, quality, and performance targets are set, achieved, and maintained within the sector.
  • Agree on targets and take responsibility for overall performance objectives for the sector.
  • Manage the performance contribution of Relationship Directors through proper evaluation and feedback, identifying strengths and development areas.
  • Coach and mentor Relationship Directors to enhance their skills and capabilities.

 

  • Business Development:
  • Develop and maintain prudently priced means and cost-effective liability with reputable commercial companies and associations to ensure the bank’s profitability.
    Support Relationship Directors in gathering information and conducting credit operations reviews.
    Maintain high-quality asset book and ensure excellent performance and returns of all clients within the sector.

 

  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Proactively manage the Telecoms & Mining Sector in compliance with regulatory requirements and the bank’s guidelines, programs, and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of functional controls, including adherence to Risk Management and
  • Compliance guidelines.
  • Uphold professional standards and provide quality services and competitive pricing to clients.

 

  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Consult with staff in risk, credit, legal, and compliance to ensure the Telecoms & Mining Sector remains creditworthy and compliant.
  • Ensure Relationship Directors embody NMB values and code of conduct.

 

 

  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Business understanding of bank’s Telecoms & Mining sectors, government programs, regulations, and banking procedures.
  • Strong leadership, management, credit, and product knowledge in Corporate Banking.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills.

 

  • Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Finance,
  • Geology/Mining, Telecoms Engineering, or related fields.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing customer connections.
