- Bushman Safari Trackers, a rapidly expanding Tourism Company based in Morogoro Municipality, seeks a versatile and highly capable individual to assume the role of Design Director overseeing a significant project in the Simiyu Region. This project is currently undergoing diversification to align with the requirements of the Special Wildlife Investment Concession Areas (SWICA) initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism. We are therefore in search of a seasoned and competent Design Director who will be tasked with planning, supervising, and leading this project, along with other complementary initiatives in various tourism zones. This position is senior within our organization, requiring adept management of numerous internal and external stakeholders and simultaneous oversight of multiple project facets.
- Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall planning and execution of the project.
- Ensure compliance with SWICA Regulations.
- Implement the Project Business Plan, including terms outlined in the Concession Agreement between
- the Government and the company.
- Coordinate financial and human resources to ensure timely project implementation.
- Manage project progress and adapt work as necessary.
- Ensure timely enforcement of all project components.
- Oversee all incoming and outgoing project documentation.
- Ensure proper execution of project core functions (Conservation, Wildlife Protection, Community Support, Tourism Management, and Monitoring).
- Develop a project threat mitigation plan.
- Conduct project reviews and prepare detailed reports for the Board of Directors.
- Optimize and improve operational processes as needed.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate effectively as a member of the project’s Joint Panels.
- Undertake any other assignments directed by the Managing Director/Board of Directors.
- Qualifications and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should possess:
- A deep understanding of Wildlife Management, including experience in pastoral systems.
- A first degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation, Environmental Management, or Project
- Management and Rural Development and Planning.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English and Swahili.
- Ability to manage stressful situations.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Big-picture thinking and vision.
- Attention to detail and conflict resolution skills.
